RIBS was a highly successful, path finding business support programme supporting Lincolnshire smaller businesses to improve their recruitment and induction processes to support their aspirations to expand their workforce
RIBS provided businesses, particularly micro-businesses with 15 hours professional business support which enabled them to access a small grant scheme. It was a bespoke programme with support tailored to individual business needs, with support provided by a team of HR professionals. Businesses were supported to become more confident and skilled in areas such as recruitment, selection, appointments, induction, sourcing Apprentices and Interns, sourcing specialist skills, reducing staff turnover
Over a 6 month period, 25 Lincolnshire small businesses were supported with the majority employing less than 10 people. 2 businesses of c100 employees were also supported with more specialist HR needs around competency development and on-line recruitment. The project supported businesses from each of Lincolnshire’s local authority districts with fantastic results in terms of job creation and business growth and very positive take-up of the grant scheme. Initial conclusions were that this unique support package really made a difference, especially with ‘hard-to-reach’, fledgling businesses, providing evident connections to employment and business growth.
